Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works on TV and in films is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading part in a variety of TV dramas. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film won an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial success. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's career has seen her work on a number of notable international and national projects. The projects include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historical miniseries Napoleon. Her other roles include being an official jury member for both and the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
